Port Credit lies at the mouth of the Credit River in South Mississauga on the shores of Lake Ontario.
The original village held out on amalgamating with Mississauga until 1974, the year the new City of Mississauga was formed.
Originally an industrial hub Port Credit todayis a hive of boating and tourist activity.
Its industrial ties have been supplanted by upscale residential condominium buildings and townhouses with spectacular views of Lake Ontario.

The annual three day blues and jazz festival known as Southside Shuffle occurs in September each year.
Choices in transportation include Mississauga Transit and for commuters to the City of Toronto the Port Credit GO Station is located at Lakeshore Road and Hurontario Street.
There is also easy access to the QEW highway for travel to Toronto and other points in Southern Ontario.
